The ladies at the Arkansans for Animals Operation SAVE clinic loved him so much that they wrote ‘A Gentleman and a Scholar’ in the notes on his vet record. He weighed in at 120 lbs at the clinic, but is a bit underweight. His family says that he weighed 150 lbs at one time. Because of his size we are cautious about his placement and do not think that he should go to a home with small children, cats, or dogs. That being said, he acts like a sweet big ole baby whenever we are with him and has lived most of his life with another dog, Daisy Maisy (unrelated by blood).

Goliath is neutered, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on shots. He has a head the size of a basketball. 🙂

It’s Tuesday! You know what that means… it’s time to take a look at a couple of pets in need of a home! Today, we have two dogs that are currently being fostered with The Pixie Project in Portland, Oregon. Greetings and salutations! Charles is my name, and I’m a 4 year old Beagle mix.  Besides being incredibly dapper (not pictured: my bowler hat), I’m also wonderfully charming and personable. The PERSON in personable is really quite key, as I feel most at ease with my bipedal brethren. My name is Charles not Fido and I appreciate that distinction.  It’s not that I don’t like other dogs, but I just don’t much like other dogs… As long as that works for you I will be the people-dog of your dreams.  Let’s have a picnic together!  Or binge watch random “Feel Good Movies Featuring a Strong Canine/Human Friendship” on Netflix.  We can discuss our favorite ways to cook chicken, or paint self portraits. The possibilities are endless with this adoring boy by your side!   Let’s just skip the dog park and spend the rest of my years together.  Does that sound perfect to you too?  Fill out the adoption application so we can schedule a meet. Ned-1Noble. Enthusiastic. Doting.  NED!  I am all of those things and much, much more.  I am an incredibly friendly 3 year old, 8 lb Chihuahua that just keeps getting the short end of the stick!  You see, not only did I find myself homeless with no loving family to call my own, but I also have 2 painful back legs that require surgery!  I know, that’s a lot to take in, but don’t worry, the folks at Pixie Project will take care of my surgery.  However, I need to find a safe and quiet place to recuperate.  Whether you are able to foster or give me my forever home, I could really use the help!  You will be rewarded richly for your kindness with my wonderful demeanor and endless loyalty and love.  I am perfect with all people and other animals. Tuesday Tails: Simon (PA)

Hey everyone and welcome back for our next edition of Tuesday Tails! Meet Simon! Simon is a beautiful boxer boy currently located in PA.

Simon is recovering from an infection that occurred after his neuter surgery. But while recovering, he’s learning all kinds of new things… like how to sit before going through a door. Here’s what his foster has to say about him so far:

He plays courteously.
He’s a great eater and is not a beggar when I’m eating.
He’s so proud of himself when he figures out what I want of him and he just has to share his joy.
He’s learning how to play together and on his own.
And finally, he is the biggest love bug I’ve ever known! Simon wants to be touching his human almost all the time.

Simon is a young (between 1-2 years old) male boxer who was surrendered to the shelter because his owner could no longer afford his care.  The owner left no information except that Simon was good with children.  It is recommended that he go into a home without other dogs or cats at this time, as he has never lived with other animals.  Apply today if you are interested in fostering or adopting Simon.
