So, because I’m a DOOFUS, I realized I never uploaded the second part of my video series here to the blog! It’s been up on Youtube for a while and yet… nada. I’m sorry, friends! So, here is the much overdue PART 2 of How to Photograph a Book Flatlay!
Maybe every time you point your phone at something there’s a harsh glare off your glossy book cover. Or maybe a harsh shadow disrupts what is otherwise a beautiful, bright image.
Or maybe you can never seem to get a decent angle.
In the last video, we focused on styling your photograph. Today? We’re shifting gears (or maybe f-stops… a little photography joke for ya) and focusing on a few easy steps to actually photograph your image better.
I’ve been a photographer for twelve years and these things take practice and troubleshooting! And I wanted to share a few tips for how to make your photographs better (even if you’re photographing with your phone and not a DSLR!). The beauty of a book flatlay is it’s not going to drool on you (like my dog). Or move and create blur (like my nephew does). Or scratch and cause you to bleed all over your new Anthropologie dress (Yep. That was my cat).
